Trinidad ecosystems are diverse than the other Caribbean
islands because it was part of the south American mainland.
Due to our geographical location the flora and fauna is
similar in nature. The rift was caused by an earth quake
many eons ago. The island offers some exciting trails
on the northern range to mini waterfalls at Paria, Madamas,
Maracas valley, Matelot, Rincon, Lalaja, Marianne and
Rio Seco. Other trails are to caves at Cumaca, Mt Tamana,
Aripo, Lopinot and Madamas.Trails to the highest ,second
highest mountain peaks and Matelot river mini-water falls
are accessible.
Tobago is a tiny island great in ecological diversity
its a paradise for nature lovers. The forest reserve along
the main ridge is a protected area .It can be reached
from Northside road of Roxborough; Gilpin trace is the
most popular point of entry. There are several mini waterfalls
on the island such as Argyll, King's bay, Green hill,
